Let me state right off the bat that this does not work every time. In my experience though, it works some of the time and that's a lot of help.

There's a lot of places that charge for this service on the web, but I found one that is mostly free (there's an up charge that we'll get to). You can just type in the phone number that you're interested in and *BOOM* there it is. Now sometimes it just tell you the person or business the number it is "associated" with, for instance my home phone number came up with my daughters name as the main contact (and she hasn't lived at my house for years).

Generally the ones that will come right up are landlines, but more often than not, that's where you're probably getting pesky phone calls from. Just being able to see if it's your doctors office or even the town where the call is coming from sometimes helps.

Anyways, grab some of those phone numbers that have come up on your phone that you don't recognize and try them out here. Make sure you select the "reverse phone" option. Also, I can not speak to the "advanced search" pay option. It said it had a lot of information on the number I was checking out, but I didn't care enough to pay.
