Lubbock, Lubbock Cooper, Frenship and Roosevelt are all delaying the start of school for two hours Monday.  Levelland and Brownfield are also in the two hour club.  In fact, pretty much every school around here is going to run two hours late or start at ten.  What the point of this is, I don't know.

Is it really better after ten than it is after eight?  Yeah, I don't know the exact times school starts, but my point is, why not noon?  Around noon things usually get really melty.  With a high of just about 40 tomorrow, even then it might not make that much difference. Then there's the fact that now parents either have to call in late, or make other arrangements to get kids to school.

I think it's a matter of "funding". I don't think the schools get all their money when kids just do a half day, so therefore they just delay things for two hours so at least you're not driving in traffic.  That's my guess anyways?  Do you have any insight?  Then let me know!
