I think bands have finally learning something. Touring in Texas during the summer sucks. It's hot and that heat is bound to kill your bus.  At least it looks that way.

I was actually looking at our comparatively light concert schedule and I got a wild hair to look around. There is just very few bands in the area at all. It's not just Lubbock, Texas seems to be "dry" as a concert spot right now. The heat may be part of it, but I think at the core, the real reason it's so bleak out there is all the festivals that are held in April/May.  This could still mean it's a seasonal thing though. We get slammed in Spring, the bands head overseas for Summer (they're just wrapping up festival season over there), a few will trickle back in the fall and then everyone hunkers down for winter.  Like it or not, I think we're going to be in this pattern for a bit. If there were more bands they'd be forced to shift to other times of the year but right now "teaming up" seems to be the moneymaker.

I certainly would like to see things spread out a bit, but I completely understand when a band doesn't want to travel the southwest in a van in the middle of summer. I think we also need to remember this around the time the 'Bash and Purple Party roll around, we have to take advantage of the rock while we can!
