It's been way too long since I have had a chance to get out and hear some nasty Texas Roadhouse Blues. Today, I plan on taking care of my 'jones' for rockin' Texas Blues at JesseFest 2013.

Jesse Taylor was and still is a Lubbock legend. Inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame last year, Taylor started the original Sunday Jam back in the day at the first Stubb's BBQ. He played with some of the finest musicians from here in Lubbock, Austin, and all points beyond.Taylor is known for perfecting the "flat land" guitar pickin' style.

Tornado Gallery and the Lubbock community will pay tribute to Jesse Taylor tonight starting at 6 P.M

Performers scheduled to play include Paul Bullock, Rev. Al and the Pythons, Wade Parks Band, Brandon Adams and the Sad Bastards, The Texas Belairs with guests Ponty Bone and RC Banks. Artwork on display will be a collection of Lubbock musicians by Joseph Garnett.

JesseFest is all about the "cream of the local scene-new talent, old talent, folks who played the Main Street Saloon, Scotty's and The 19th St. Warehouse. This is a Lubbock celebration, for a stellar Lubbock talent, put on by Lubbock folks. Simple as that," says Larry Simmons of Tornado Gallery.

JesseFest 2013 is a BYOB event with tickets available at the door for $15.

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy true Texas talent as we celebrate the life and music of Jesse "Guitar' Taylor.
