The Michigan Pure 400 ended up turning into a much better race than I honestly anticipated, especially due to the fact that the automatic winner Jimmie Johnson had car troubles and didn't finish.

I will give credit where credit is due and say that Johnson has honestly earned the wins he's achieved this season for the most part. His team works just as hard as any, if not harder, and he drives his ass off, but still it's rather monotonous to see the 48 every week at the front, save for all you Johnson fans.

Anyway, back to the news at hand.

Logano had a great day, obviously, starting from the pole and ending in the same spot. Kurt Busch was surprisingly impressive today as well, though Michigan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. had car troubles and couldn't fashion a solid end to a great day. Gordon was basically MIA all day back wading in the 20's.

Logano put a big exclamation point on his week, showing that he's an actual contender this year, especially with a strong, motivated and momentous team.

Next week, we have one of the absolute best races on the circuit, and I'm thrilled. Bristol, the famed "World's Fastest Half-Mile" is just that, so get ready for some 15-second laps and lots of carnage next Saturday night.
