The official start of the season got the green flag Sunday afternoon, and Joey Logano collected the checkered flag after 500 miles of high-speed action.

After a solid season last year, the 24-year-old is already on pace for a great 2015 season, recording his first Daytona 500 win.

After pole sitter Jeff Gordon, who started his final 500 of his career, led most of the laps, he fell victim to a last-lap wreck. Gordon wound up finishing 33rd. Other big names like Brad Keselowski and Tony Stewart finished 41st and 42nd, respectively.

Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, six-time champ Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top five.

Racing's back, baby!! Next week, we take a trip down to Atlanta.
