I'm not much of a gardener, in fact if there was such a thing as an "ungardener" I would be it. I plant things and they don't grow.  I do have a great appreciation for those people who grow things.  The problem is, people all too often try to grow things here that don't belong.

Among the things that "belong" here are the orange trumpet plants and the purple sage.  Both are popping out all over town.  I've heard of "zero scaping" which means planting things that require little or no water. While I can't give you all of the gardening tips these plants require, I have to admit I enjoy seeing these bursts of color among our usually drab, dirt colored landscapes. Maybe when you're looking at landscape options next year, you could look at adding one or more of these awesome plants.  You'll add some color to your house and save a little water in the process.

I'd like to point out that these are actual pictures from these plants at my house, and I've done NOTHING to care for them or even encourage their growth.
