Learn to Read Your Water Meter

I found this video when I had a pretty high bill. I was able to check everything over and see for myself what my gallon usage was.

Once you know this stuff, it seems like a "no, duh" thing. For some folks though, staring at a gauge down a dark hole can be a little intimidating. There's even an explanation here for those who claim "there's still dirty on my meter-no way they actually read it."

Once you've peaked your meter and matched it up with the numbers on your bill, you can have a real idea of what you're using and even how to conserve a bit. After watching those numbers go round and round a couple of times, you become a lot more aware of your usage. This video is five minutes well spent.
