The only big upset this week in college football was Washington toppling Stanford in dazzling fashion, while close calls highlighted the rest of the weekend.

The Washington Huskies pulled off an upset on the team that pulled an upset on USC...it's funny how it all seems to come around, isn't it? The Huskies took down the Cardinal 17-13 in Seattle on Thursday of last week.

Other than that, close calls were present all across the land, with Tennessee scaring #5 Georgia, #25 Baylor almost coming up with the last bullet in the shootout against #9 West Virginia, Oklahoma State almost serving up a homecooked upset against #12 Texas, #20 Michigan State coming within a point of knocking out #14 Ohio State, #15 TCU escaping a trap game against SMU, #18 Oregon State dodging an Arizona upset, #19 Louisville pulling a four-point win in Southern Mississippi, Wisconsin almost topping #22 Nebraska, and possibly the most mindblowing scare, #24 Boise State almost falling to NEW MEXICO.

Needless to say, there was action this week, even though the underdogs didn't really have their day.

After last week's slew of overtime insanity in the NFL, only one game went on to the extended period, as the Cardinals kept a perfect record, taking down the Dolphins 24-21.

Close calls included Philly taking down the Giants 19-17, Green Bay keeping the now 0-4 Saints from pulling an upset 28-27, Washington taking down Tampa Bay 24-22, and Atlanta crafting an amazing final drive to come up with a 30-28 win against Carolina.

This week is in the books, so tune in next week to see what the sports world has for us...
