Wow. That is about all that can be said. I would kind of expect this thing from some hillbilly or Donald Trump (he 'speaks his mind,' claims supporters). I would not expect this from a University President or son of a preacher man.

Jerry Fallwell Jr. made the following comment during a weekly convocation:

"I always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walk in and kill."

Falwell went on to claim that he had a gun his back pocket "right now" as he encouraged the nearly 15,000 students to get their concealed carry permits. Falwell's comments were met with "vigorous" applause from the students.

Seriously dude, I understand. But there are things you think, and things you say. This is definitely 100 percent something you don't say, and something that some of us try our best not to think.

Yeah, I have those thoughts like everybody else, but then I wise up. It's crazy that he would use the phrase "end those Muslims" as if all were terrorists. (This falls into another blog I have written and have yet to publish. My question is simple: Which of you is going to kill the children? Who is going to "end" the babies?)

Everyone has a right to bear arms. I have no problem with that. Specifically targeting one race, instead of one ideology is amazingly, stupidly wrong.  Should we look a bit harder at that group? Probably. But we shouldn't think that they are the only threat.

Can you imagine if the head of Planned Parenthood called on employees to pack heat so they could "end those Christians" before they shot up another woman's health clinic?

Falwell has since claimed that he didn't mean "all Muslims," just those who participate in attacks. I understand mistakes, but someone really needs to look into what they're teaching in this college.
