From a new studio and self-produced standpoint, Linkin Park is looking to overhaul its sound on this brand new album aimed for release later this summer, according to band member Mike Shinoda.

The band has reportedly been working, reworking, then re-reworking takes again and again, clocking in "10-12 hour days" to make a sound that feels "bold and energetic." The band has been experimenting with digital and analog sounds, creating a sound that seems to have a new identity each time one sits and listens.

No official word has been released on an exact date for the new material, but the summer season will feature new Linkin Park tunes; that's for sure.

When we get more details, we'll pass 'em along.
