I was just about to write a blog about how all this Jade Helm nonsense had died down since Texas needed aid from the floods. I had no interest in stirring up the Jade Helm stuff, it just seemed odd how conveniently and coincidentally it went away when we needed federal funds.

Now, a good month or so after all of this WAS news, KCBD aired a ludicrous report "investigating" Jade Helm.

When I saw the teaser, I seriously checked to see if I was watching a show from a month ago on my DVR.

When you quote radio personality Alex Jones as a source, you are really building a house on top of a swamp.

This guy has been pitching conspiracy theories and selling conspiracy books for decades. He also has said that the government was behind the Oklahoma City Bombing, the 9/11 attacks and that the moon landing was faked.

In addition, their "investigation" included random stuff shouted out by a group of nuts in April

All of this was done in a story called "KCBD Investigates: Hard Questions About Jade Helm." The ONLY new information they brought to the story was an interview with County Judge Tom Head.

Now, why would you interview a judge about this instead of a military or government official? Well that would be because this is the same judge that in 2012 claimed that the President was going to send U.N. Troops in and that he would "stand in front of the tanks."

So, they purposely went to the kookiest guy out there and you know what he said? According to the story, he said: "I haven't seen anything to make me think it's anything other than a military exercise."

There you go. The one guy that could have got you a little attention just threw your whole story in the crapper and you still ran with it, giving equal time to the loons and the experts.

I'm just a dumb-dumb morning show d.j. and I brought more light to the subject in between making dick jokes on the radio.

You can check out my other stories here.

Simply put, this was awful journalism. It was just recycled sensationalism from April. No wonder nobody trusts the news anymore.

Jade Helm will eventually end and I want to see apologies from all the half-ass news outlets and all those nutballs that are disrespecting our military and our government by saying they would ever even consider turning against us.

So why do I even pay attention to it?  Because I don't want some crazies out there to take this nonsense seriously and try to preemptively strike at the government like they did in the Oklahoma City bombing. I don't want kids to look at soldiers as anything but the heroes that they are. I also get extremely agitated when nuts screaming something at a town hall meeting are given the same amount of weight and/or credibility as real sources.  The lunatics simply don't deserve equal time.

Disclaimer:  These are opinions and they are my own. I'm a blogger, not a journalist. I would also like to state that my $100 Jade Helm challenge stands. Anyone who wants to put some cash on the line as to the intention of these maneuvers can step up or shut up.
