Backstage Live continues to book some really killer shows. Of particular interest to me are the comedy offerings. The show is set up very well for comedy and once the happy hour crowd cleared out, the headliners rocked the house.

Andy Huggins is one of the original outlaws of South Texas Comedy. He comes from the same group that brought us Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison.  Huggins looks like the sweetest Uncle that you never had. Kind of like an old uncle on a t.v. sitcom. He's started using this persona to his advantage and delivered so many one liners it would be impossible to count.

Slade Ham has spent more than his fair share of time entertaining the troops and it shows. He is a crowd pleaser and entertains with edgy, but not particularily nasty, humor. I'm not sure how long he was supposed to be on for, but he was having fun and keep the crowd rockin'.

I've included a couple videos from the guys, but I'd like to remind you that there is nothing quite like live comedy. This particular show was only $11 up front and $5 if you arrived during happy hour.  Backstage live offers incredible sight lines making it a perfect location for live comedy.  You will need to call in advance if you want to reserve table seating.

p.s., the picture in the blog is the "before" version of the Slade Ham shirt. You'll have to ask me in person what it is in the "after" version.
