There's a lot to discuss these days, and none of it is on the agenda.

District One Councilman Juan Chadis is hosting a community meeting at the Maggie Trejo Center. Could we finally be talking about LP&L? What about the city buying buildings downtown? Can we get our roads fixed? Nope. The topic is "what stuff can we get for old people to do?"

The meeting is this Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the Maggie Trejo Center basically asking for input on events and activities to have at the center. I really respect the fact that the councilman is staying close to his roots, but isn't this a job for a volunteer or something?

Hey, I have an idea! Why not teach these seniors how to build a fan since they're on fixed incomes and can't afford electricity in Lubbock anymore?
