Thursday (June 15), a Lubbock man pleaded guilty in an attempted aggravated kidnapping case.

KAMC News reports 21-year-old Dacorious Tyquis Mooreing was accused of abducting a Texas Tech student at gunpoint on the campus in 2015. The victim was forced to drive around with Mooreing and a second suspect who hasn’t been identified yet.

Prosecutors say Mooreing and the other suspect tried to kidnap a second person, but in the process, the victim and the would-be victim escaped.

Mooreing agreed to serve a 25-year prison sentence as part of the guilty plea.

Mooreing was already on deferred adjudication for a child sexual assault case. Because the kidnapping was a violation of the terms of his deferred adjudication, Mooreing was sentenced to 15 years for the child sexual assault.

Mooreing will serve the 25 and 15 year sentences concurrently.
