Wednesday, 31-year-old Joshua Jackson, a Lubbock local, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the possession of 164 pounds of hydroponic marijuana.

Jackson was arrested in April of 2015 after being stopped on the Clovis Highway outside of town. While he wasn't committing any visible crimes at the time, officials say that they were working with the help of an anonymous tip.

Due to two previous marijuana-related felony convictions, Jackson was charged with a first degree felony instead of second degree.

When Jackson was pulled over and searched, police found 164 pounds of marijuana in 10 carbon lined bags in his vehicle. Reports say that he was traveling from Chico, California to Lubbock.

Jackson has been in jail since June 2015.
