Lubbock Police Honor Fallen Houston Officer

You may see Lubbock police with a black band around their badges.

Lubbock police are honoring a fallen fellow officer with a subtle change in uniform; they are wearing a black band on their badges in honor of a fallen Houston officer. I got to talk to a young officer about this, and I can tell you that this one cut them deep. I didn't want to dig any further, but I'm assuming it's in honor of Sgt. Steve Perez, a 34-year police veteran who did in the hurricane Harvey floodwaters.
