Six people were wounded during a robbery that turned violent near 17th Street and Avenue V Sunday night.

According to Everything Lubbock, Lubbock police officers had responded to a call Sunday night about a person who was shot in the forehead. An officer informed the outlet that a person had "fired a shotgun full of birdshot" at a small group of people who were outside of a home near 17th Street and Avenue V. The attack happened during a robbery.

At the time, only two people were reportedly struck by the shot: One person in the head, and another in the stomach. But Monday morning (August 29) the LPD issued a new statement that upped the number to six:

Officers learned that a group of victims (8) were out walking and were approached by the involved suspects who threatened the victims with a weapon and demanded money and valuables. The suspects collected some items and started to leave the area when one suspects turned and fired one shot at the victims. Six of the victims were hit and injured by what appears to have been possible shotgun type projectiles. The injured subjects had minor injuries and they all refused EMS at the scene.

Details about the victims' current conditions is unclear.

Two suspects are currently being sought by Lubbock police for the attack.
