Thank you Hub City for making me proud. The one thing that's always said about the Hub City is the people are great. This is absolute proof.

According to KFYO, same-sex marriage licenses will be issued starting Monday.

You don't have to agree with same-sex marriage; in fact, it's your right as an American to speak out against it if you want. Some of us might find that a bit hateful, but that's your right.

What matters is that enough people have accepted that the time for marriage equality is here -- or at least realized that it has no impact on their lives whatsoever.

There have been no earthquakes, judgments or gloom and doom. No one will be "forced" to perform ceremonies or provide services that don't want to. Life will not change for those people not involved.

What will happen is that all couples will now be able to enjoy the protection that marriage brings (things like end of life decisions). It will also pump an estimated $182 million dollars into the Texas economy.

Way to go, Lubbock County. There is no reason for foot-dragging on this topic anymore, and I'm glad our County officials have realized that. And with that, I want to wish everyone, gay and straight, true happiness and love in their marriages.

P.S. I would still like to perform Lubbock's first same-sex marriage and am happy to help any other couples if time allows. You may message me here if you need a non-denominational service.
