So, "THANKS" City of  Lubbock and vector control!  We appreciate you waiting until the last minute to cut those tall weeds down and so far, I haven't seen anyone spraying at all.

So to skip ahead, apparently for three weeks I've been fighting this thing.  Fever, chills, headaches, sore joints and severe fatigue.  Here's the kicker though.  They can't do anything for you. Nothing.  It even takes 2-3 weeks to find out for sure if it's West Nile for sure and that information is only good for record keeping purposes.

My doctor did tell me that he's already seen four cases in his clinic this year.  Make sure you're wearing mosquito repellent and be a part of the solution by making sure there is no standing water around your house.  Also, do keep in mind that it can't be passed person to person so it's okay if we French kiss. And for those of you who think it "can't happen to you", remember that it happened to "Lubbock's Most Beloved Radio Personality.
