I guess Lubbock still has some type of burr under its saddle for hometown girl Natalie Maines. The superstar appeared on The Simpsons last night with little to no fanfare in her hometown.

The Simpsons is getting a little long in the tooth. If you were to turn it on for the first time you'd realize how great the show still is. But since it's been on so long, a lot of people take it for granted. Let's compound that by the fact that even though our town is supposedly full of conservative Christians, they seem to forget that whole Jesus "forgive" thing when it comes to Miss Maines.

My favorite YouTube comment on the singing was: "Lol what the f---? Whose beautiful voice Was that?" More than one made similar comments about "the beautiful voice," which makes the lack of recognition in Lubbock all the more pitiful.

The episode was called "Gal of Constant Sorrow" and featured Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon in the speaking parts. When it came time to sing, Natalie Maines stepped in as the character.
