I don't understand how anybody can be anti-science. No matter your beliefs, if you want medicines, cars, or any of a bazillion other things, then science is at the root of it.

Alexander Raths

I guess people dispute science when it doesn't jibe with their current beliefs. Anyways, it's a hell of a thing to teach your kids that proven scientific methods are just a matter of opinion. This sort of anti-intellectualism is no doubt why some feel a "March For Science" is necessary this weekend across America (coinciding with Earth Day).

Here in Lubbock the peaceful March For Science is taking place at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center For The Arts at 5th and Avenue J on the east side of the building from one to three.  This is an all ages event with guest speakers. Other community groups will also have booths and information about what they do at the event.
