Metallica Pay Tribute to Green Day at Voodoo Music Festival [VIDEO]

With Green Day having to pull off the Voodoo Music Fest for Billie Joe's rehab stint, Metallica stepped in to fill the open slot. And being the good guys that Metallica are, they paid tribute to Billie and the band the best way they know how.

First James Hetfield made a brief speech about Green Day and how the world needs them as a band. Then he kicked into the riff from "American Idiot", but only briefly. Finally they dedicated "Battery" to the ailing singer and rocked the world's face off.
