"Pokemon Go" has made a ridiculous amount of money in the first month of its release, but players have been dealing with a whirlwind of frustrating updates and beta testing issues.

Here's the official list of updates made to the 0.33.0 version:

  • Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed; Trainers will have to indicate they aren’t the driver
  • Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses
  • Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time, so please choose your new nickname wisely
  • Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature
  • Other fixes

So, to get down to brass tacks:

Every time a player opens the app, they're greeted with one of the reminders to help players stay safe, which includes a new feature where the app makes sure people aren't playing and driving.

The problem with poke-ball throws not giving experience has been fixed, and they helped out with the bug that prevented players from catching Pokemon -- which is good news for players who were consistently down to five or less poke-balls.

Niantic also gives players the chance to change their nicknames on the app one more time, just in case you weren't completely happy with the one you already have.

Players have been given a lower battery drain from the app.

The biggest problem with the update has been the nearby, or 'sightings,' tab. While the game glitched with the footsteps feature, the new tall grass one isn't much better. Rumor has it Niantic is testing betas, but for now players are utilizing what external apps are still up and running, like PokeBliss.

Bonus: The graphics on the poke-ball have been updated to look more realistic, which is totally cool.
