A busy intersection in southwest Lubbock is getting a much-needed traffic light.

73rd & Frankford now has lights installed.

According to a City of Lubbock worker at the scene Tuesday afternoon, the traffic lights should be working in the next couple of weeks. They're just working on getting the electricity up and running.

The neighborhood is a busy residential area adjacent to Shepard of the Plains church, so commuters were seeing long waits at the two stop signs, and were more than likely making risky left turns. The wait time to just cross Frankford Ave. from 73rd Street could also be obscenely long.
