The Houston Texans had a late surge, but it wasn't enough to overcome Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round match-up. The Falcons also survived a late scare by the Seahawks. In the NBA, the San Antonio won their 12th straight at home.

NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS...

ATLANTA 30 – Seattle 28... Matt Bryant's 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds remaining capped a wild finish and sent the Falcons past the Seahawks. Seattle had scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to take a 28-27 lead with 31 seconds left. Atlanta QB Matt Ryan threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns.

NEW ENGLAND 41 – Houston 28... Tom Brady threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Patriots over the Texans. Shane Vereen was on the other end of two TD strikes. Wes Welker had eight catches for 131 yards.

NBA SCORES...

NEW YORK 100 – New Orleans 87... Carmelo Anthony scored 18 of his game-high 27 points in the second quarter and the Knicks cruised past the Hornets to snap their three-game skid. Chris Copeland added 22 points.

Milwaukee 107 – TORONTO 96... The Bucks rallied from 20 points down in the first quarter to beat the Raptors for the eighth straight time. They outscored Toronto 33-18 in the final quarter. Brandon Jennings and John Henson scored 19 points apiece. Jennings also had 10 assists.

BROOKLYN 97 – Indiana 86... The Nets used a 28-11 fourth-quarter advantage to rally past the Pacers. They got 22 points from Deron Williams and 20 points from Joe Johnson. Brooklyn has won eight of nine under interim coach P.J. Carlissimo.

SAN ANTONIO 106 – Minnesota 88... The Spurs pulled away from the Timberwolves in the fourth quarter to win their 12th straight at home. Tony Parker made 10 of 15 shots and finished with 20 points.

DENVER 116 – Golden State 105... The Nuggets ran their winning streak to a season-high five games in downing the Warriors. Danilo Gallinari tossed in 21 points and Ty Lawson added 20. Kenneth Faried gathered 10 rebounds.

Oklahoma City 87 – PORTLAND 83... Kevin Durant poured in 33 points as the Thunder held off the Trail Blazers. Kendrick Perkins grabbed 12 boards. Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge had 33 points of his own as well as 11 rebounds.

L.A. LAKERS 113 – Cleveland 93... The Lakers jumped put to a 17-point lead after the first quarter and coasted past the Cavaliers to snap their six-game losing streak. Dwight Howard powered his way to 22 points and 14 boards after missing three games due to injury. Kobe Bryant scored 23 points to lead all scorers.
