The past couple of years, the Pro Bowl has undoubtedly lost its luster, so the league took it upon itself to make some very necessary and worthwhile changes.

Starting this year, players, coaches and fans will still vote for their favorite players, but these favorite players will go into a pool, not separated by division. From this pool, two team captains, Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders, will pick who they want on their respective teams.

This basically means it's schoolyard 'ball all over again, except this time, with a sort of fantasy twist.

The game itself, which will take place on January 26, 2014, has had some tweaks, including the exclusion of kickoffs, and an implementation of a two-minute warning every quarter and a change of possession every quarter.

Hopefully this new rule set will breed a better, more exciting experience for the fans, which is what it's all about in the first place...
