A recent tweet from Avril Lavigne reveals that the pop singer is collaborating with fellow Canadian and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger on her new album.

Avril Lavigne has been hard at work on her her fifth studio album — which we usually wouldn’t cover but it’s the company she is keeping in studio that has sparked our interest. After teasing via Twitter (Tweesing?), “I’m in the studio…… Who am I working with???? He’s Canadian,” Lavigne revealed the mystery guest to be none other than Chad Kroeger. We assumed the pairing was nothing more than a hair-styling tip exchange, that is until the accompanying photo showed Kroeger without his signature man-locks.

Apparently Kroeger has been brought in help shape some of Lavigne’s new tunes into radio-ready pop hits — something he and Nickelback have done on a number of crossover hits like ‘How You Remind Me,’ ‘Far Away,’ and ‘Photograph.’

Nickelback will hit the road with Bush, Seether, and My Darkest Days in April for the ‘Here and Now’ tour, in support of their recent album of the same name.
