I just came across this teaser video a few weeks ago of a documentary entitled “Nola: Life, Death And Heavy Blues From The Bayou” which features members of Down, Goatwhore, Eyehategod, Crowbar and more talking about everything that the title says and it looks pretty cool.

When we think of cities that have had a impact on music, New Orleans, LA it feels like to me gets left out of the conversation.

"NOLA: Life, Death, & Heavy Blues From The Bayou"touches on this influence of this city and the bands it has produced, like Down, Goatwhore, Acid Bath, Eyehategod and Crowbar.

The first episode features Philip H. Anselmo of Down and formerly of Pantera and also features Kirk Windstwein in his very early career. The first episode does really good job at setting up this 7 part series. It’s really cool to see how different albums shaped a genre of music and getting to hear the stories from the bands that made them.

This is worth taking the 15 minutes to watch and I will keep updating when the new episodes come out.

Checkout the first episode of "NOLA: Life, Death, & Heavy Blues From The Bayou" and then let me know your thoughts about the documentary.
