We have a bonus supermoon coming up November 14th. Technically, it's a couple hours off from being a perfect supermoon, but most astronomers are calling it close enough for rock and roll.

So, what is a full moon to begin with? It's when the sun and moon are on the opposite sides of the earth. Now, also keep in mind that the moons orbit is more of an oval, and that the earth is not exactly centered in that oval. We get a supermoon when the moon is full on the side of that orbit that is closest to earth.

This will be the closest the moon gets to the earth in the 21st century. It will not be this close to earth again until 2034.

Now, what does the term supermoon even mean to you? Well, depending on where you're at the moon can appear much larger and brighter than usual. If you think you're experiencing a little deja vu here, you are. We had a supermoon last month and we'll have another to close out the year.
