Opinion: Oregon Takeover Was a Complete Exercise in Futility

Let's start off with this: one of the Oregon militants, Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, was shot after he charged police (this is from eyewitnesses). He didn't have his hands up, he wasn't executed. He was attempting to attack law enforcement before they shot him. Done. Don't believe any other hype.

Eight of these wanna-be militants were arrested.  Some had left and will be rounded up later. A few remain at the compound. None of this has served any purpose at all. No real point was made and one deluded man was killed.

These ranchers believed that you should be able to graze your cattle on public land for free. Sorry, I don't get to go to the corner park and pull up the grass to put in my yard. The reason we have government branches like the Bureau Of Land Management is to make sure that these areas aren't overgrazed and lost forever. We have to have a mind towards preserving things for the future. The real bottom line is these men thought they should be able to get paid for feeding their cattle with you and I paying the bill for the feed. Some of these ranchers may have even been good stewards of the land, but there's a chance not all would be.

The idea that something was taken away from these people, whether it be freedoms or grazing rights is stupid. These are just narcissistic self-centered douche-wads with a sense of entitlement.  The reason why they took over that Wildlife Refuge was wrong, the actual taking over of it was wrong, and they were wrong to think that they had any right to demand anything. They're lucky that no one else was killed, including peaceful residents of the community and law enforcement officers.  Even worse, they are a joke. They are the "gang that couldn't shoot straight", just a bunch of morons high on attention and themselves.  Enjoy prison Bundy Bunch.
