This week, Patrick Mahomes continued his post-collegiate career support for the school that catapulted him to the NFL.

The former record-breaking QB posed for pictures while rooting on the Texas Tech men's basketball team in Kansas City as they faced off against rival Texas in the Big 12 tournament.

Mahomes took pictures with fans, and even gave some love to the team itself.

In a tweet from Texas Tech Basketball, Mahomes connected with Norense Odiase.

Mahomes also took the time to take pictures with hardcore Texas Tech fans who showed up to get their guns up.

Mahomes was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs as the team's 10th overall pick in 2017. But since his departure from Texas Tech, Mahomes has proven that you can take the kid out of Lubbock, but you can't take Lubbock out of the kid.

He's appeared at several Texas Tech football games, including vs. Iowa State, in a show of solidarity and support for a struggling team; appeared at a local charity event; and has his former teammates' backs even when they're down.

And then there's that time he ripped off his clothes when Texas Tech upset Texas in Austin. Who could forget that?
