Is "The End of the Road" starting in 2019? That remains to be seen, but what is known now thanks to Paul Stanley is that KISS will be embarking on a major tour next year.

Speaking to CNBC's Squawk Box, Stanley teased, "A major KISS tour, I would say, starts at the end of January," before laughingly adding, "It hasn't been announced yet, so don't tell anybody. Breaking news."

While keeping his comments brief, the vocalist added, "This will be the biggest tour we've done, the biggest show we've done."

It's been a relatively light year for touring where KISS are concerned in 2018, but more than a few eyebrows were raised when the band attempted to trademark the phrase "The End of the Road" earlier this year. Just last month, Stanley stated, "It's not the first trademark that's been filed. I thought it was a terrific name, and I was surprised nobody had used it before. I wanted to make sure that when we used it, and there will be a time that we do, I imagine — I wanted to be sure that we own it and it's ours."

He went on to state, "Everything does end, in one form or another. When it's my time, I want to go out in style, and I want to go out guns blazing. So, when I came up with this idea, I thought let's make sure we tie this up."

Stanley has spoken on several occasions about the band potentially living on beyond the eventual retirements of himself and Gene Simmons, the group's two remaining original members. So it's possible even with "The End of the Road" tour moniker, that might not be the end of KISS as a performing entity.
