Thursday evening (June 11) at 6:28 p.m., an American Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Lubbock's Preston Smith International Airport.

The American Airlines M80 flight 2478 was carrying 142 people on its way to Sacramento from Dallas when it experienced engine failure, according to KAMC news.

The Lubbock Fire Department was dispatched to the scene after the report of the aircraft's engine failure. The plane landed safely, resulting in zero injuries to the crew or passengers aboard.
