From my experience, our City Attorney Sam Medina is a good guy.  Time will tell if he's a good guy "who's made mistakes", but by all accounts he's a pretty good guy.  Right now he's being accused by a soon-to-be ex-daughter in law of "sexual assault".  I personally am not buying (what little) I've heard of this woman's story, but that's not why I'm writing this.

Since I have a lot of respect for Mr. Medina, I didn't want to write this at all; I didn't want to bring any more attention to what I think will add up to a load of b.s.  Mr. Medina himself kind of forced my hand as a taxpayer to speak up.   Mr. Medina is asking the city to put him on PAID leave will this gets straightened out.  I don't even know what kind of a world politicians live in where they can make a request like this with a straight face.  "Pay me while I clean up my personal business".  Seriously.  Right now there are people in Lubbock losing their income and their jobs because they have (a sometimes deadly) flu.  Other people lose their jobs for a lack of baby sitters or a million other problems.  I challenge ANYONE reading this to go to their boss and say this "hey a family member is talking sh!t about me, I want you to pay me until they shut up".   Good luck to you on that one!

I am, once again, sure Mr. Medina will clear his name. But I can't think of one single reason why taxpayers in Lubbock should have to pay him to do so.
