Protests Planned for Governor Abbott’s Lubbock Book Signing

Governor Greg Abbott will be in town Tuesday for a book signing. A local Facebook group is calling on Lubbockites to use this opportunity to protest Gov. Abbott's legacy and agenda.

Gov. Abbott will be appearing at the Hastings on Slide Road at 3 p.m. The protesters have a litany of complaints with the governor, including his refusal to expand Medicaid and intolerance of LGBT Texans. The group also cites Texas' current pitiful standings in education, teen pregnancy and more.

The group is calling for "no violence, obscenity or profanity" and a peaceful protest on the sidewalk.
