The two Texas teams that showed so much promise throughout the regular season are coming home empty handed after failing to execute in the fifth games of both ALDS showdowns.

Wednesday was the hard day of reckoning for most baseball fans around here, as the Texas Rangers fell in Toronto to the Blue Jays 6-3 in a wild, emotional bout to the death. The Houston Astros fell a little less wildly, succumbing to the rigid Royals offense in Kansas City by a score of 7-2.

Let's be very clear, however; both these teams will be dangerous for at least the next couple of years. Don't be surprised if you see a similar scenario being played out this time next fall.

Congrats to both teams on great seasons; here's to next year!
