Over the weekend, we reported on Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea spending some time with the world-famous Koko the gorilla. The primate knows over 1,000 hand gestures developed as Gorilla Sign Language as well as 2,000 English words, but set her sights on tackling the bass after watching Flea. Fox News reported on the story, giving credit to Koko, but they proceeded to slag the Chili Peppers as "the worst band in the world."

In the video above, a clip of Koko slapping her fingers across the bass strings in an attempt to figure out the instrument is shown as Greg Gutfeld runs through his music segment. "As most musicians know, this is a vast improvement over the Red Hot Chili Peppers; the worst band on the planet," he said while the clip continued to roll. Co-host Eric Bolling interjected, saying, “The producers said ‘You should do this story,’ but I said ‘No, Gutfeld is going to say the ape is better than Flea.’”

"The ape is better than Anthony Kiedis," Gutfeld responded. "By the way, the ape is 45 [years old], which is half the age of Anthony Kiedis. Red Hot Chili Peppers: poor man's Faith No More, don't ever forget it," he continued while pointing a finger at the camera. It should be noted that the Chili Peppers released their eponymous debut record in 1984, over one year ahead of Faith No More's We Care a Lot first offering in 1985.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have authored six RIAA-certified Platinum records, all of which have gone multi-Platinum save for one, Mother's Milk. Two other albums have been certified Gold, leaving just three of their 12 albums without any RIAA certification. Their newest album, The Getaway, is one of those three, it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band was part of the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction class.
