Zach Davis drove in Tanner Gardner with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 12th inning, lifting the No.13 Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team to a 4-3 midweek victory over New Mexico State at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park Tuesday.

NMSU led nearly the entire game while scoring in the third and fifth innings while holding a 2-0 lead the final four innings of the game.

Junior pinch hitter Quinn Carpenter saved the night for Tech (11-4) coming up with a two-out single up the middle to score Corey Raley, who has reached based in 11 consecutive games, to tie the game at 2-2 making extra innings possible.

Sophomore infielder Ryan Long provided heroics in the bottom of the 10th tying the game 3-3 in the 10th inning with an RBI single to center field.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Parker Mushinski (2-0) earned the win, pitching the final inning of the game with a strikeout.

NMSU reliever Lincoln Herendeen (0-1) suffered the loss allowing the game-winning run on two hits in 1.1 innings of work.

New Mexico State (1-13) used seven pitchers in the game while both teams combined played 41 players.

Tech starting pitcher Ty Damron took a no decision, but finished with career highs in innings (6.2), strikeouts (6) and pitches thrown (89).

Senior reliever Dominic Moreno was nearly unhittable for 3.1 innings, allowing just a run on two hits with seven strikeouts. He struck out six of the first seven batters he faced from the seventh to ninth inning.

The Tech team ERA dropped to 3.17 -- the lowest it has been this season.

The win over the Aggies was the third straight home win for Tech that has ended in walk-off fashion.

Texas Tech and NMSU will complete their midweek series tomorrow afternoon with a 2 p.m. first pitch at Rip Griffin Park.
