I don't have much desire to watch that new sniper movie. It doesn't make me un-American,   I just am not into the Hollywood version of the story. I may check out the book some time. I will recommend a real life documentary that shows what it was really like for our soldiers in Afghanistan.  The name of the documentary is "Restrepo" and the full version is on YouTube right now.

This documentary is pretty simple. A film crew spends a year with a platoon inside the deadliest valley in Afghanistan.  There's no Hollywood here, no rehearsed scenes. People die and people live and some wonder what it is all for.  It's powerful and very real.  I would suggest this documentary to anyone.  It is simply one of the reasons I fell in love with Netflix.
