The Legendary Richie Ramone Rocks Lubbock

The Ramones have been a huge part of my life throughout my entire life. As a toddler, my father thought it was particularly hilarious to sing Beat on the Brat to me, and as an adult I must agree that it was pretty funny.

Sadly, Richie is now the last surviving member of The Ramones. But it was an honor and privilege to see him perform several Ramones songs (he wrote several, including Somebody Put Something in My Drink) and some other covers including Depeche Mode. Aw, yeah.

Aside from the guy that made fun of my off-brand kicks, the evening was a blast with fantastic local bands and some new-to-me acts I really enjoyed. I always love seeing my sweet babies in Johnny Handgunn.

(By the way, random parking lot dude, you can absolutely send a $75 check to the station so I can have real Converse. That would be real punk rock of you.)
