I thought yesterdays winter blast was the worst one yet. Driving home at 2 p.m. was insane. The Interstate varied from a top speed of 35 to a crawl.  The good news is, thanks to mother nature and the wonderful crews at TexDot, the Loop and Interstate are much improved.

Coming in from the airport to the West Loop I saw a little ice under some bridges, but for the most part everything was clear.  When I came in, there were two Tex Dot trucks still salting the bridges and doing work on the interstate.  So, you may have to knock it down by 5-10 miles an hour, but the I and Loop are looking good.

Coming down 82nd & Quaker things were mostly good until I hit 82nd. That was the only serious slide I had this morning, so keep in mind that regular streets still have some problems. On some of the access roads you'll see one lane bone dry, but the second lane still covered in snow.

Ultimately most of those two hour school delays weren't even necessary this morning, but it's good they made a decision in time for parents to make some arrangements.  You guys be careful this morning and watch for my video later today on tailgating.
