The south's representative in the grunge movement was "The Nixons" out of Oklahoma. You've probably heard "Sister" on the radio, but the band also had minor hits with "Head", "Happy Song (make it rain)", and later with "Baton Rouge", "The Fall" and "Miss USA". What makes the Nixons so interesting is how active the band members are. The drummer now plays with Seether, the bass player just finished a stint in Edgewater, the singer, Zac Maloy writes and co-writes songs for a lot of other artists. The original drummer operates a studio out of Dallas and writes with current artists. The band even toured once with Ray Luzier who is now Korn's longtime drummer.
