Rooster’s Arcade Flashback, Mario Kart 64 [VIDEO]

Mario Kart 64 was released on December 14th 1996 and my Mom and I spent many many hours playing this racing game on Nintendo 64.

Mario Kart 64 featured 16 different courses with 8 playable racers. My favorite of course was Yoshi because he was the fastest but if picked one of the bigger characters like Bowser, he wasn't as fast but if you bumped into him you would spin out if you were a smaller character. The game also featured a battle mode where you and up to 3 of your friends could battle away which ate up many hours of my time.

My Mom and myself would spend hours playing this game and every Friday and Saturday night before I went out for the night I would have to play my Mom before she would let me go out. What would be funny is that all my friends would be waiting for me to get done playing my Mom and by the time I beat her one of my buddies would want to play so we would end up just playing Mario Kart 64.

This was such a fun game to play and still I will take my 64 to my Mom and we will play Mario Kart 64.
