Watch This Russian Girl Rip Iron Maiden’s ‘The Trooper’ on the Accordion

This is easily the sickest video you’ll see today. A YouTuber called Lady Chugun has made a video covering Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper” on accordion, but what makes this clip truly impressive is that she’s playing multiple parts at once!

Lady Chugun is a Russian musician with a taste for hard rock and heavy metal. She’s covered songs like Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls” along with Europe’s “The Final Countdown” and Joe Satriani’s “Midnight,” but her rendition of “The Trooper” is our favorite.

“Hello! I’m a girl from Russia,” Lady Chugun’s YouTube profile reads. “I love to drink vodka and sometimes play the bayan and the electric balalayka.” The bayan is a Russian accordion that differs in many ways from western chromatic button accordions, and it’s what she rocks “The Trooper” with.

This video was made back in 2015, but it’s been making the rounds on Facebook thanks to Iron Maiden Collection. During the song’s iconic intro, Lady Chugun tackles the lead and rhythm guitar parts simultaneously, filling out the song’s dynamic range beautifully. When Bruce Dickinson’s vocal parts come in, she plays them note for note on the right side of her bayan, while keeping Maiden’s rhythm guitar parts steady on the left side.

For the song’s bridge, Lady Chugun busts out a classic six-string guitar to nail Adrian Smith and Dave Murray’s solos. The whole video is something to marvel at, so check it our for yourself in the clip above!
