The Brickyard 400 is always a race that's on the mind of every race car driver in the Cup series, and polesitter for Sunday's circuit, Ryan Newman, made it a mission to win the heralded race.

A South Bend, Indiana native himself, Newman grew up watching the races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, so to pull out a victory, especially over the dominant Jimmie Johnson is insanely huge for him and his team.

Other notable finishes include Kasey Kahne finishing 3rd, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finishing 6th, Jeff Gordon finishing 7th, making a full top ten performance for Hendrick Motorsports. Tony Stewart, who owns Newman's car, finished 4th.

Next week, week visit the Pocono Mountains yet again.
