There's not a better way to spend time with the family and get in the Christmas spirit than a trip out to Mackenzie Park for Santa Land.

Santa and Mrs. Claus, the smell of the fire pits, and piping hot chocolate are the perfect way for some of us to release our inner Ebenezer Scrooge.

Whether you go every year, or if this is all new to you, it's always fun to take in the incredible 60-foot lighted Christmas tree. There's live entertainment on the Lubbock Parks and Recreation stage and the animated favorites from Rudolph to the Seven Dwarfs featured in Santa's Village.

If you missed the opening of this year, or you've never made the drive to check it out, it's not too late to start your own 2015 family tradition because Santa Land will be open nightly  6-9 p.m. at Mackenzie Park through December 23rd.
