Let's dust another little political nugget off, slap it on the ass and send it out to pasture. One of the more juvenile and more unthought out claims is that one side votes just because "they want free stuff". That's nonsense.

There's not a grown up out there who doesn't know that any services they want cost money and that money comes from taxes. We ALL know this. Just putting it out there, far right folks like to say that far left folks "just want free stuff". That is a way of really dumbing down on argument.  The fact is, we all know the price tag and no one wants "free stuff", they want "different stuff".  With that in mind, the right was the same as the left, "different stuff". Not once in history has the government spent less than the previous administration. Everyone spends more, republican, democrat, it doesn't matter.

I want different stuff than we're getting now. I guess the simpletons that have to put everything in one of two boxes would put me in the left, but I try to decide on each issue, instead of what anyone in that party would want.  So, what kind of different stuff do I want? Well, I'd like to see our veterans provided for before we send them off to war (meaning let's have a plan for them when they come home). I'd like to see people get a chance at a better education, rather than subsidizing oil companies. I'd like to see a bit more money put into the research of inner and outer space than allowing companies to store their profits overseas.

Anyways, you don't have to want the same things as me. I'm not here to try to convince you of anything other than the statement that one side wants "free stuff" is complete nonsense and intellectually dishonest. We just want different stuff.
