Sunday evening's severe thunderstorms across the region downed some power lines in Lynn County.

According to electrical engineers with Lyntegar Electric Coop, power lines were downed by high winds around 5:15 Sunday evening at the intersection of County Road 14 and FM 212 near Grassland. According to the Texas Tech Mesonet, the highest winds recorded in both Lamesa and Tahoka on Sunday evening were about 40 mph.

The downed lines caused a small number of power outages.

From Lyntegar at 7:00pm, May 22, 2016:

"We have 5 outages and 201 meters out of service at this time with the largest outages west of Draw and northeast of Grassland to west of Graham. The cause of that outage are these three poles down north of Grassland. We are in the process of isolating the line in order to refeed it from our Two Draw Substation."
