One of the three suspects awaiting trial for a murder that occurred almost three years ago in East Lubbock, copped a plea deal on Friday.

22 year-old Shaquille Maurice Cofer pleaded guilty to murder, and two other charges, in the connection with the fatal shooting of Christopher Jones.  Jones was killed at the Skool House, in the 1700 block of East 4th Street, in July of 2013.

Cofer was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder charge and one year in prison for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

KAMC News reports that two co-defendants, Treyci K’shon Neece, 20, of Clovis, and Jaquan Antuan Ward, 21, of Lubbock, are still awaiting trial for the murder charge against them.
